excellent situation, accommodation very good, staff friendly - everything was great until the very end of my stay when I was asked to pay for use of the tv system which I had not used at all - there must have been an error on the system which I hope they manage to sort out. Although it was sorted out amicably I still left feeling slightly less than the 100% happy I had been until then.

On arriving at Country Inn and Suites, my first impression was immediately very positive: the staff were very polite and helpful. I am a blind person, and they made it very clear that they would go out of their way to assist. The room was rather cramped - understandably so - but very adequate and smelt fresh. Access to the window rather restricted. It had an oil filled heater to boost the temperature which I welcomed as in some other places I felt rather cold and shivery. The bathroom was clean and there were plenty of towels. The bed was ample but the springs were rather worn out on the edge of it but it is a minor discomfort. The street noise is noticeable for somebody coming from the countryside but it is after all centre of London. On the down side, I booked a taxi through the reception for the following morning, and I was charged an astronomical fee by the taxi driver for a journey of less then a mile (£16). So I would advise people to either flat a taxi (which I wasn't able to do), or book a black cab over the phone.
